This was the first bushwack peak that I took Michael along with me. We planned to do a through hike from 47 to McKinley Hollow, but we didn't end up doing that.
We started off with a bang.... quite literally as a few hundred feet in we realized that all the fallen leaves were covering the trail and making it slippery.... and well, Michael fell. After it happened a second time, our pace slowed down. The hike in to Biscuit Brook lean-to was quite pleasant. Crossing over the brook to find the herd path up Fir was a little difficult... With all the fresh leaves, any established herd path was covered. We eventually found it and were able to find our way up to the top. The ridge walk over to Big Indian was also rather well hidden. We did a little wandering, but overall we followed the ridge and got there. At that point it was getting a little late in the day and it was closer to go back to where we started than to head over to the other car, so we went back to 47. The trail down was more of the same, used a little caution to not slip too much.
These make # 18 and 19 for the 3500.
