Today I started on the Lake George 12 by going for a hike with Michael up Cat and Thomas. We started off at the parking area on Edgecomb Rd. The trail starts off as a dirt road and eventually you make a left turn and are on trail. The trail overall up Cat was pretty nice to hike. It was surprisingly well marked and easy to follow. It was only at the top that it got a little steep to climb. The views though were well worth it. We then went down the other side, which is how most people come up, and that was much easier for the little bit we did, it was essentially a road.
We turned left and started following the trail to Thomas. This was a bit more difficult to follow, but still a lovely trail with some nice views on the way. The top of Thomas has a nice ledge and views, wtih a plaque screwed up possibly as a memorial? Not really sure. When we came down though, it was all road, and as we crossed over back to where we were parked, there was a "fun" flooded part of the road we had to get around. Overally though, great day and great start to the LG 12!
